Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name, county, or location entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Freeborn County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or contact message, we retain what is needed to respond. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected
Normal web operations can record limited technical details when a page loads. These details help measure use and diagnose errors.
- The device's Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device class and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring site, when supplied
- Date and time records
Cookie Controls
Cookies help show how visitors move through the site. A browser can block or remove them, although some features may work differently after cookies are disabled.
Purposes for Using Data
Collected data is used only for operating, measuring, and improving the service and its partner connections.
- Keep pages available and responsive
- Send search requests to the selected partner
- Understand which resources visitors use
- Locate and repair technical problems
- Display advertising that may reflect interests
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to sheriff and corrections pages, official release-record portals, court resources, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, that destination's privacy terms control its collection and use of data.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across several websites to select ads. That tracking occurs through their systems, not through a Freeborn County government system.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may still be handled by the parties needed to run the site or comply with law.
- Search partners processing a submitted query
- Analytics providers measuring site use
- Advertising networks serving ads
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to protect information under our control. No website or network is completely secure, so we cannot promise that an intrusion, loss, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Adults Only
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact us to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law and the data we hold, a person may ask to exercise the following rights.
- Receive a copy of personal data held about them
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Ask for deletion of eligible data
- Opt out of certain processing where that right applies
